Overview
Located northeast of Laikipia County in northern Kenya, this 64 square miles reserve is home to some of the rarest flora and fauna on the continent. Most popular accommodation options are the game lodges and villas with different rooms and cottages to match your personal style of traveling in an African safari. There are also tented camps that offer modern amenities and are strategically located to offer maximal wildlife experiences, some so close you could watch them from the window of your tent. The Samburu people have worked diligently to protect the teeming wildlife population, which includes the Samburu Special Five – Somali ostrich, beisa oryx, gerenuk, grevy’s zebra, and reticulated giraffe.
